Music Land KEY in Shibuya is not just an instrument store, but a space of fluidity and adaptability. In discussions with our client, we learned that frequent layout changes are common in instrument stores, prompting a need for flexible interiors.

In response to this need, we proposed drawing a grid on the floor, a design solution that allows for regular reconfiguration without compromising the space's aesthetic. As it turns out, most of the instruments and fixtures corresponded to a 900x900 grid. By basing our design on this grid and reflecting it on the wall features, we have created a space composed of this grid.

For the color scheme, we centered on achromatic materials to ensure that instruments of various colors stand out. The only exception is the cash register counter, where we chose to use wood. This selection adds a touch of warmth and natural elegance to the otherwise sleek and modern store. The final result is a harmonious space that meets the client's needs while providing a pleasing shopping experience for the customers.
