花を愛で、音を嗜む

空間を彩る要素である「花と、その花器」と、空間で過ごす時間に豊かさを与えてくれる「音楽」。 この2つの体験が持つ豊かさや価値は、現代に生きる我々にとって失いかけた「何か」を思い出させてくれるものです。 様々な時代を経てきた土と、今を流れる水とを混ぜ合わせ、陶芸家の手によって、ろくろの上で、ひとつひとつ成形される花器。様々な時代の名盤を混ぜ合わせ、DJの手によって、ターンテーブルの上で、一曲一曲 繋がれていくBGM。両者に共通するのは「静」と「動」という別々の視点から現れてくる「時間」というアプローチです。そして、花を楽しむ、音を楽しむという、私たち人間の最もプリミティブな「愉しみ」でもあります。本当に楽しむという行為は、時間を過ごすことでしか得られない体験であり、人間の「手」から生み出される職人的な技が、その豊かさを高めてくれるのだと我々は考えます。 花器と音楽、この異なる二つの持つ体験性と創造性を一つにまとめたプロジェクト、それがNew Vinylgieです。音楽は、横浜を中心に活動するDJで、レコード蒐集家でもあるDIG ITさんがセレクト・ミックスし、陶器は、愛媛にて320年以上の歴史を持つ砥部焼の窯元 龍泉窯の池田麻人さんに作品を制作頂き完成したもので、ふたつ で ひとつの作品となっています。

Flowers and vases are elements that color space, and music enriches time passing in space. Those two senses lead to abundance and values that will bring us back to something that we, living in modern times, are almost losing. Mixing earth that lived several times over and water that flows at the present time, the potter creates flower bases one by one on the potter’s wheel. In the same way, popular background music songs from all generations are mixed on the turntable one piece by another. Those two have something in common. This is « time » spinning out from opposite point of views, « stillness » and « motion ». Flowers and music are one of the primitive pleasures of human-being. The true essence of “enjoying” can only come with the notion of time, enriched by art creations issued from craftsman’s hands. Flower bases and music, those two different experiences and creativity are united in one same project, New Vinylgy. The music pieces are selected and mixed by the record collector DIG IT, a DJ active mainly in Yokohama area. The flower bases are created by Ikeda Asato, in the pottery TOBE that has more than 320-year history, located in Ehime prefecture.
