The café is located in Sangenjaya, a district of Tokyo known for having a buzzing night life with many bars and restaurants. Actually, it’s surrounded by residential streets where many families walk around in the daytime, but not enough cafes are built for ladies to relax and enjoy light food. That is the reason why the owner, spouse of a fashion designer, chose this place for supporting mothers and working women. She wanted a space where women can come with their babies/children, stylish but with easy-going vibes. So, we consciously combined various materials in white base to create a homely and comfortable space. The kitchen should be a place for communication so we purposely created a shallow counter, with the countertop made with dark walnut, a very popular material for home furniture. The chairs we selected are mainly home dining chairs, the wall tiles purposely look “DIY” to create a homely atmosphere. The café offers mainly sandwiches made from homemade natural yeast bread and whole grain bread, reflecting the owner's consideration towards mothers raising kids, and providing healthy food for stamina. Including cooking classes offered regularly for developing the community, this communication space for women has become the hub of a new face of the city.
